2016 GP Art Exchange 

 What does community mean to you?  In the first Global Playground Art Exchange, students around the world are making art with their communities and cultures in mind. Each participating school is getting art back from five different schools and their art will be displayed on our 'virtual gallery'.  Global Playground schools in Thailand, Cambodia, Uganda, Myanmar, Honduras, the Philippines, and Vietnam and partner schools in the United States, Malaysia, and Spain are participating.  A discussion guide and the gallery will be found on www.globalplayground.org soon!

 

Pen Pals:  Koh Khel Middle School (Cambodia) students are seeking out pen pals! Contact me if you know any 13-18 year olds who like to become friends with an eager, bright student in Koh Khel.

 

"Cocoa" Talks:  Over the next 10 months, discussions will be taking place between our students across the world on topics related to culture, women's rights, the environment, food, and more!  If you'd like to have your class Skype a GP classroom regulary, please let me know.

 

Just Dance:  GP Thailand Teaching Fellow Amanda is coordinating an incredible dance exchange between our school in Mae La Noi, Thailand and the Academy of Buwasa in Uganda, with the help of BT Fellow Ruth.  If you'd like to get your classroom grooving and moving with our schools, reach out and we'll get you engaged!

 

Project Site Idea: Global Playground is always seeking out ways to help build educational infrastructure.  If you have a community in need, please reach out and I'll send you our project criterion.

 

Volunteer/Donate:  If you appreciate our mission, please consider applying to join our team or donating.  We are currently recruiting a grant writer, website/interaction designer, and teaching fellows for 2016.
